Our number one priority is to provide you with the best banking products and services we can offer. That's why we made the decision to perform a major upgrade on our core processing system.
A few weeks ago, we gave you important information about this conversion. At that time, we told you the conversion would begin Friday, November 4th and would be completed on Monday, November 7th. In order to minimize the impact this conversion will have on our customers, we have decided to postpone the implementation of the new system until December 5th. This will allow us to be better positioned for a smoother conversion.
The process to begin the upgrade will begin on Friday, December 2nd at 5:00 pm. The information below explains how the conversion process may affect you and reflects the changes in the new conversion schedule.
Online Banking Enhancements
The upcoming changes to our online banking services offer new conveniences that will save you time. Below are details you need to know about the conversion of our online banking services.
Basic Online Banking
• Online Banking will not be accessible beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 2nd
• You will need to re-register for online banking through the website at www.firstcommbankstaunton.com after 8:00 a.m. on Monday, December 5th
We are excited about our new online banking system. If you are not currently an online banking customer, we encourage you to enroll after December 6th so you can evaluate the new system and take advantage of the conveniences it has to offer.
Online Bill Payment
• Online Bill Payment will not be accessible beginning at 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 2nd.
• If you currently pay bills online, your payees will not convert.
• Also, any recurring scheduled bill payments and pending bill payments you have scheduled will not convert. For example, if you have a bill pending to pay on December 20th, the pending payment will not convert so the payment will need to be rescheduled in the new system.
An important change in the new system is how the bill payment is funded. Today, the funds are deducted from your account two days after the payment is sent. With the new system, the funds will not be deducted from your account until the payee actually receives the funds.
Bill Payment History
If you rely on your bill payment history to keep record of your payments, the history will not convert. To retain the history, you will need to download it prior to Friday, December 2nd. There are a couple of ways to download the history. First, login to online bill payment and click the arrow next to the payee’s name. Click the option to view payment history. You can then choose to download the file or print a report. Another way to obtain the history:
• Log into Bill Payment;
• Click on View Reports
• Click on Create a report;
• Select the options you want for your report;
• Click on Create a report;
• One of the options you can choose is to sub-total by a category. If you choose to sub-total, the report will be sorted by the category you chose. If you choose not to sub-total, the report will display in the default view sorted by “Sent On” Date.
• After the report is generated you can either print the report or download it to Quicken or in a text file format.
If you are not currently paying bills online but plan to enroll in online bill payment soon, we recommend you wait to enroll until after the bill payment conversion is completed on Tuesday, December 6th. Feel free to give us a call and we will assist you with this process.
e-Bills Received through FCSB Online Bill Payment
Important! One change in the new system pertains to electronic bill presentment. If you currently receive electronic bills from payees through FCBS Online Bill Payment, you will need to sign-up for e-bills again in the new system. However, the new system does not require you to have a logon ID and password with the payee in order to receive an e-bill. Instead, next to the payee name, you will see an e-bill icon. Simply click on the icon to request an e-bill.
If you do not see an icon next to the payee name, e-bills are not currently available through Online Bill Payment for that payee through the new system. You can continue to receive your bills electronically by logging into the payee’s website. We are attempting to enroll those payees and hope to add them in the near future.
Your e-bill history will not convert. If you rely on your e-bill history to keep record of your bills, you will need to download it prior to December 2nd. To download the e-bill history, click on the arrow next to the payee name and then click view bill history.
ATM / Debit Cards
Coming Soon
We’re excited to announce that First Community State Bank is joining the MoneyPass Surcharge Free ATM network. MoneyPass offers over 22,000 surcharge free ATMs. MoneyPass Mobile apps are also available for both the iPhone and Android mobile phones.
ATMs that display the MoneyPass logo are part of the MoneyPass Surcharge Free network. You may begin using these machines surcharge free in early December. When the machines become available, they will be included on our website.
During Conversion Weekend
Throughout the conversion process, your FCSB Debit card will remain active for purchases. However, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd through 8:00 a.m. Monday, December 5th, there may be some periodic disruption of ATM services, including balance inquiries and cash withdrawals. We will work hard to keep these disruptions minimized and get the new ATM network operational as soon as possible.
Bank Statements
The current system will produce a final statement reflecting transactions that occurred between 6:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2nd and your previous statement date. Future statements will resume as scheduled.
Extended Hours
To assist you or answer any questions you may have after the conversion, we will extend our hours as follows:
• Monday December 5th through Friday, December 9th until 6:00 p.m.
Our number one priority is to provide you with the best banking products and services we can offer. That's why we made the decision to perform a major upgrade on our core processing system.
